Department 02
Ten studios have turned award-winning into a repeatable industrial process. The all-time table shows how — and shows that they are not all playing the same game.

Reading the table
The volume game. Locomotive has won more days than anyone — 91 — off 131 honorable mentions, and converted that into exactly one Site of the Year. This is a studio that has industrialised clearing the daily bar. For a commercial agency it is arguably the correct strategy: a Site of the Day is a sales asset, and ninety-one of them is a moat.
The peak game. Monks sits fourth on days won but first on Sites of the Year with four. Fewer daily wins, more of the rare ones. That profile belongs to a studio picking a small number of projects with genuine invention in them.
The sustained game. Immersive Garden's thirteen Sites of the Month is the standout number on the entire board, and the hardest to accumulate — Site of the Month means the work went back to the jury a second time and held up. Thirteen times. Three Sites of the Year on top of it puts the Paris studio, on this reading, at the top of the field regardless of what the day column says.
Ninety-one days is a business. Thirteen months is a reputation.
Geographically the table is narrow: France three, the United States three, then Canada, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Italy. Award-winning interactive work remains a small-world discipline, clustered in a handful of studios that hire from each other.
Profiles
The most decorated profile on Awwwards by daily wins, working on a project-based model priced to scope. The record reads as relentless consistency rather than spectacle — the studio that has won the most is not the studio that made the most famous single site.
A design, animation and development studio that has sustained exceptional output for over a decade, and the holder of more Sites of the Month than anyone. Their Cartier Watches & Wonders build — six discrete 3D rooms with a Web Audio score — is the current reference for what a luxury brand experience can be. Previously took both Studio and Developer Site of the Year in the same cycle.
Thirteen Sites of the Month is the hardest number on the board — each one means the jury looked twice and did not change its mind.
Animation-first by doctrine, and unusual in the field for treating audio as a first-class design material rather than a garnish. Most builds run a Three.js rendering pipeline under GSAP timeline control.
Holds more Sites of the Year than any other profile. The largest operation on the list, and the one whose record most resembles a network agency's: enormous submission volume, and the top prize four times.
The studio that set the commercial bar for browser-based 3D. Full WebGL environments driven by GSAP with custom GLSL shaders, for Google, Nike and Netflix. Took Site of the Day on 24 July 2026 for the Spotify Wrapped Party build — a reminder that they are still winning days seventeen years into the format.
A high day-to-mention conversion rate — 53 wins from 60 mentions is the most efficient ratio in the top ten. Very little of what they submit fails to place.
The inverse profile to Immersive Garden: only three Sites of the Month but two Sites of the Year, meaning their rare peaks go all the way rather than stalling one rung down.
A long-running fixture of the experimental end of the field, with a record spread evenly across every rung of the ladder.
Eight Sites of the Month off the smallest mention count in the top ten — a low-volume, high-hit-rate operation. Their Brunello Cucinelli AI commerce build took the day on 9 July 2026.
Still actively winning: the Lacoste Polo Factory build took Site of the Day with a Developer Award on 21 July 2026. A studio with a recognisable appetite for playful brand mechanics.
Fashion houses have become the most reliable commissioners of award-tier interactive work — Lacoste ran two in a season.
Current form
The all-time table is a record of accumulated wins, which makes it a poor guide to who is dangerous right now. These four took days in the current cycle.

Also winning
The table is an all-time record, so it under-represents whoever is winning right now. Three names from the current board worth watching:
Studio Freight — authors of Lenis, the smooth-scroll library running under a large share of award-winning sites, and winners of Site of the Day on 22 July 2026 for Dragonfly Redux. Unusual in that their open-source tooling has probably influenced more winning sites than their own client work.
Lusion — took Site of the Month for April 2026 with a Developer Award, for work built around a single hero object rendered with genuine physical weight rather than a scene full of objects.
Utsubo — currently the most technically forward studio on the board, shipping WebGPU with a WebGL fallback from a single shader codebase. Took FWA Site of the Month in May 2026.
